A very charming little stone head of a doll from Thailand - mid to late 17th century. The stone appears to be either a form of granite or sandstone - although it seems to be sturdier than sandstone. The head is of a small boy with a delightful smile on his face. There may be a faint hint of traces of paint that has worn off over the centuries - or that could just be the natural patina that has developed. The piece measures 4 1/2" high with the stand - the stand is 1 1/2" high. The head alone is 2 1/2" high by 2 3/8" ” wide by 2 1/8" deep. Excellent condition. Obtained many years ago at a top quality Montreal Asian antiques dealer.
