A Japanese Color Mezzotint of Lilies – Narikawa - Showa
A fine Japanese mezzo tint print of lilies in a woven basket by Shigenu Narikawa, Shigenu (Japan, active, 1960 - 1990). Narikawa's art is well known in both Japan and the United States. One man exhibitions of his mezzotints have been held in Tokyo, Kyoto, Los Angeles, New York and Washington. He has also created original mezzotints for art publishers in both countries. He specialized in still life scenes such as this one. The print measures 17" by 15 1/2" – the image size is 8 7/8" by 6 1/2". Not signed on sealed – identified as a Narikawa on the back of the print. Excellent condition – probably dates from the 1970s.
