Two very nice early Japanese prints – one of a mountain scene with a boat in the distance – the other of a large rocky overhang on a mountain. One print measures 7” by 4 ¾” with an image size of 6” by 4”. The second print measures 7” by 4 7/8” – image size is 6” by 3 7/8”. They are in very good condition – minimal toning or wrinkling, we date them to the early Meiji period, circa 1870s-1880s. Both prints are signed - The first print translates as "Kikosuke" and the second, clearly by the same artist, simply translates as "Kosuke".
