A Ming Style Celadon Bowl with Impressed Flower
This is a lovely celadon bowl with an impressed flower in the bottom of the bowl that appears to be an open lotus blossom. The edges of the bowl are lightly scalloped and give the bowl a nice soft appearance. The outside is not decorated other than the celadon glaze. The small raised foot is not glazed on the bottom.

We think there is a very strong likelihood that the bowl is a genuine Ming bowl. However, realizing the number of superb reproductions that are out there, we will take the conservative approach and date it to the late 19th century, Qing dynasty. The bowl measures 4 ½” diameter at the top – 1 ¼” diameter at the base – and stands 1 5/8” deep. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or restorations. It has clearly been used but has no damage from usage.
