A fine and rare white nephrite (jade) hair pin with a flat curving shaft slightly widening towards the rounded end, the openwork-carved finial with a bat, swastika (wan) symbol and terminating in a ruyi head, slightly indented in the center where a gemstone (probably spinel) is affixed. 11.5 cm (4.5") long. Qing Dynasty (18th-19th Century).
