A red lacquer on metal snuff bottle of flattened ovoid form, carved on one face with a young female playing the flute in a garden setting, continuing on the reverse with a female figure holding a fan, the upper body with ruyi and the lower with lappets, supported on a raised foot rim with a recessed base.
1780-1860 2.7 inches without stopper Condition: loss to upper portion of flute (easily restored), minor chips and wear.
