A Edo~Meiji (1800s) cast iron (with mixed bronze and copper elements) masterpiece. Giant sized and very rare Japanese Usubata Flower Bronze Vase. The lively dragon figures gives the rather simple vase overall complete balance. Greatly appopriate for tea ceremony or being used as a plain display zen item for Japanese-style or Oriental rooms. Minor abrasions expected due to age and weather exposure. There is a crack on the lower part of the tail of the dragon which is on the surface of the skin and does not go affect the overall structural rigidity and sturdiness to support the whole body. It can be taken as an element of its powerful design which is probably cracking due to old age. It is considered excellent as it is and for its unassuming size and command. Deserves respect and appreciation for its premium craftmanship and quality. Please visit our gallery below for more detailed pictures: Measurements: Height x Width x Depth = 48 x 33.3 x 23 x 32 cm. Diameter of the main Vase body = 32 cm FREE Shipping and Handling via EMS. |
