Romantic Staffordshire Brown Transferware Soup Tureen
Antique Romantic Staffordshire brown transferware soup tureen with lid, soup ladle and underplate dating to the 1850's. It is very rare to find a complete set. The soup tureen is lovely with sailboats, windmills, fruits, and flowers. It has nice embossed lines and scrolls on the handles and finial. It measures 5" high and 9" long. The ladle has a windmill in the bowl and embossed lines down the handle. The plate's border is scalloped and has the same repeating scene around the border as the bowl. The bowl is marked Delph. There is quite a bit of crazing which is expected for a piece of this age and there is some discoloration. The handle of the ladle has some crazing and some blue discoloration on the handle. The underplate has crazing, discoloration, and a very small chip on the edge and 2 small chips on the edge on the bottom. Just a wonderful piece!
