This stunning #185 Lamp was produced by the Westmoreland Glass Company. The design for this lamp was taken from the early 1800s Sandwich Whale Oil Lamps. The Imperial Glass Company produced many hand decorated pieces of Candlewick. From what I can find in my Candlewick references hand painted pieces of Candlewick were offered for sale as early as 1939. Most of the decorations were done at the Imperial factory. Although I found many floral patterns in my references, I did not find a Poinsettia pattern listed. This decoration must have been offered as a special for the Christmas holiday season.
