An engraving of the column of Focas in the Roman forum by Luigi Rossini. Rossini was an architect who was unable to obtain any commissions in Rome so he decided to follow in the footsteps of Piranesi. He did a series of engravings of various sites in Rome which he called Le Antichita Romane. Image size measures 13 3/4 inches by 18 inches. The paper has been trimmed to 16x20 inches. Once laid down and with a bit of foxing, but priced accordingly.

Blue green faience ring with Ankh sign. The Ankh was popular during the Amarna period, often appearing on reliefs. Circa 1352-1336 BC. The shank broken and glued, otherwise intact. Length of bezel 20mm, width 10mm.

A lovely dark blue faience ring. The bezel with with what appears to be an an animal and an Ankh. Circa 18th-19th Dynasty. Length of bezel 19mm, width 13mm. Apparently intact, which is unusual.

Statuette of a young man, perhaps Harpocrates, with an outsize phallus. He wears the hairlock of youth and a headdress, he holds a container in his left hand and has his right hand inside the container. Circa 2nd-3rd Cent. AD . Height 6 ¼ inches. Has some wear and a chip missing from the base, otherwise intact.

A greenstone Mezczla mask somewhat larger than usual. The mask is of abstract form with sharply delineated features. Circa 300-100 BC H. 7inches, W. 3inches. Formerly in the H. D. Gibbs Collection. Harold Gibbs 1895-1962 was an avid collector, in addition to coins he collected odd and curious means of exchange. His collections were sold by Hans Schulman in four auctions from 1951 to 1971.

Ancient Daunian askos, of a type often referred to as a baby feeder. This is possible but it is also possible that the small spout allowed one to pour a small amount of oil rather than from the larger spout. Restoration to the large spout or filler and the handle on top. Some encrustation remaining. Circa 4th Century BC. Height 10 CM.

A Greek terracotta bust most likely representing the Goddess Demeter. She has almond shaped eyes, a large smile, almost as if she just heard a good joke and large disk earrings. Her hair cascading down her back and over her shoulders in the front. Glued as shown in the photos. Height 14 CM,[5 1/2 inches]. Archaic period, late 6th century BC.
