Very Rare Chinese Kangxi Famille-Verte Meiping Vase

A very rare 17th / 18th century Chinese Kangxi period famille-verte porcelain "meiping" vase, the classic and elegant form vase superbly potted and finely enameled around the body with four flowering branches issuing from rockworks probably signified the Four Seasons, with light gilding picked-out in some areas, around the gently splayed foot decorated with a colorful band of lotus petals, an iron-red band encircling the shoulder, interior and base glazed white, the unglazed foot rim exposing a smooth and fine dense grain characteristic of the Kangxi period. (Wooden stand not included)

NOTE : It is extremely rare to find a "meiping" form vase from the Kangxi period, and it seems no other similar vase appears to be recorded.

DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, Kangxi period (1662 – 1722).

MARK : no mark or signature.

SIZE : approximately 7 1/2" (19 cm) high.

CONDITION : in very good overall condition with minor enamel wear, base drilled and top of rim with slightly ground down glaze most likely to accommodate lighting fixtures, some small production glaze flaws scattered around the body. No chips, no cracks or other damages, and no repairs.
