A very good quality and finely carved 19th century antique Chinese export ivory card case, of large size, intricately carved allover in high relief with a figure on horseback and other figures in a garden setting amongst trees and pavilions, the borders surrounded with dragons, bats and birds, the original cover similarly carved, the ivory mellowed into a fine creamy-yellowish tone.

DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, 19th Century, circa 1850.

MARK : no mark or signature.

SIZE : approximately 3 3/4" (9.5 cm) x 2 1/4" (5.7 cm) x 1/2" (1.5 cm).

CONDITION : in excellent overall condition with one or two pinhead size nibs to extremities noted for accuracy only, the cover has two small age fissures to one side corners and secured by two tiny rivets. No other damages or repairs noted.
