A fine and very rare 18th century Chinese Qianlong mark and period slip-decorated celadon-ground porcelain dish, the large size dish stoutly potted with everted wavy rim, center of the dish and rim finely decorated with scattered sprays of flowering branches and butterflies all applied in relief white slip, edges of the rim applied the same, covered allover in a fine and attractive light celadon glaze suffused with areas of crazing or large and long crackles, the reverse and underside also covered with crackled celadon glaze, center of the base inscribed with the six-character Qianlong reign mark in underglazed-blue and of the period. DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, mark and period of Qianlong (1736 – 1795).
MARK : underglazed-blue six-character Qianlong seal mark on base.
SIZE : approximately 11 3/8" (29 cm) diameter.
CONDITION : in perfect condition, minor glaze wear, one tiny production glaze flaw to rim only. No chips, no cracks, and no repairs.
