A fine pair of 19th century Chinese Daoguang marks and period famille-rose porcelain dishes, delicately potted and finely enameled around center of the dish with a roundel of "lingzhi" fungus surrounded by colorful band of lappets, a gilded four-character inscription "Jixiang Ruyi" in seal script form evenly spaced and separated by four different sprays of flowers probably representing the four seasons, a band of interlocking leaves enameled in turquoise just below the rim, the reverse painted with four iron-red bats, rim gilded, the base glazed white and each inscribed with the Daoguang reign mark in red and of the period. DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, marks and period of Daoguang (1821 – 1850).
MARK : iron-red six-character Daoguang mark on base.
SIZE : approximately 5 3/4" (14.6 cm) diameter.
CONDITION : both dishes in perfect condition, minor enamel wear, one dish has a small and very faint glaze hairline on the base but does not go through to the interior (too faint to photograph). No chips or other damages, and no repairs.
