A superb and very fine 18th century Chinese blue and white porcelain jardinière / planter, the perfectly rounded vessel finely potted with wide everted rim tapered gently towards the base and supported on a low circular foot, finely painted around the body in underglazed-blue with a pair of four-clawed dragons contesting a flaming pearl amongst cloud scrolls, all above breaking sea waves, covered in a white glaze with light celadon tinge, the top rim decorated with a band of four detached flower scrolls separated by dots, interior and underside unglazed with an original drainage hole, the unglazed foot rim burnt slightly orange in the firing. (Wooden stand not included) DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, 18th century.
MARK : no mark or signature.
SIZE : approximately 6 3/4" (17 cm) high; 11 5/8" (29.5 cm) diameter.
CONDITION : in immaculate condition; two very small foot rim chips originated from production (production flaws) noted for accuracy only. No chips, no cracks, and no repairs.
