A fine and rare Chinese Ming dynasty Longquan celadon glazed porcelain "Hu" vase, the small size superbly potted vessel took on the classic archaistic bronze "Hu" form with globular body rising to a tall cylindrical neck with two single ring bands below a wide gently up-turned lip, a group of three ring band around the body with a further banding of double-ring encircling the shoulder, covered allover with a fine sea-green celadon glaze. (Wooden stand not included) REFERENCE : The simplicity of design and form of the present vase is especially pleasing. Compare a Song dynasty Guan glazed "Hu" form bottle vase with very similar ring-banding in the collection of Beijing Palace Museum. (See last image)
