A fine and rare late 19th century Chinese cloisonné enameled covered jar, the lobed melon-shaped vessel finely and exquisitely decorated allover with colorful small leafy-flowers against highly attractive lemon-yellow ground, a band of lappets encircling the foot, interior and base enameled in blue, all the rims are gilded, the foot rim bears a "lao tian li" hall mark. A custom made hard wood stand is included. NOTE : It is very rare to find a cloisonné enameled vessel of such unusual shape and bearing the "lao tian li" mark. The jar is heavy in weight suggesting it could be of bronze base rather than the more common and lighter copper-alloy base, also an indication of good quality.
DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, late 19th / early 20th Century.
MARK : incised four-character "lao tian li zhi" (made by lao tian li) hall mark around the foot rim.
SIZE : approximately 7 1/2" (19 cm) high without the stand, 9 1/2" (24 cm) longest width.
CONDITION : in perfect condition, a tiny enamel flaked to the inside cover noted for accuracy only. No dents, no cracks, and no repairs.
SHIPPING : Inclusive.
