A fine and superb 18th century Chinese Qianlong mark and period gilt-decorated blue-glazed porcelain dish, of large size, the front covered in a deep sapphire-blue glaze and finely painted in gold with five large ball flower and lotus scrolls, the reverse and base glazed white and decorated with five iron-red bats "wu-fu" (five-blessings), rim gilded, the base inscribed with the Qianlong reign mark in underglazed-blue. NOTE : This is a Qianlong period minyao dish at its best.
DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, mark and period of Qianlong (1736 – 1795).
MARK : underglazed-blue six-character Qianlong seal mark on base.
SIZE : approximately 10 3/8" (26.4 cm) diameter.
CONDITION : perfect condition, tiny amount of gilding wear only. No chips, no cracks, and no repairs.
