Rare 18th C Qianlong Mark & Period Dated Bronze Cup

A fine and rare early 18th century Qianlong mark and dated Chinese archaistic bronze libation cup "Jue", the deep 'U'-shaped body supported on three outward curved blade-shaped legs, finely cast with a broad band of key-fret motif and flanking a loop handle issuing from an animal mask, the large scoop-shaped spout surmounted by two vertical finials with circular caps decorated with whorls, underneath the spout crisply cast with the Qianlong mark, date and inscription within a rectangular cartouche, the metal of good chocolate-brown tone. (Wooden stand not included)

DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, dated to the third year of Qianlong (1738) and of the period.

MARK : cast Qianlong mark and inscription beneath the spout.

SIZE : approximately 6 1/4" (16 cm) high to the tip of finial, 6 3/4" (17 cm) wide across the spout.

CONDITION : excellent condition with fine original patina, small original casting flaws and normal surface wear commensurate with age. No cracks or other damages, and no repairs.
