This sculpted sterling cable bracelet is signed Hecho in Mexico, 925 and what appears to be T-S, 57 - which indicates that it was made in Taxco by an artist whose name began with S, he would have been the 57th silversmith with the name beginning with an S. If you look at the new David Yurman cuff bracelets you will think he has taken his inspiration from the early 20th century Mexican silver artisans. This cuff is a full 2 inches at its widest point and can be adjusted to fit 6 to 8 inch wrists comfortably. It is quite heavy and extraordinarily well made.

Wonderful UNSIGNED sterling "River of Life" bracelet attributed to William Spratling with the matching Signed earrings. This bold, heavy silver cuff bracelet was one of Spratling's most popular designs both in the 1930s - mid 1940s and remains popular today! Its design is a wonderful example of Spratling's earliest work: silver balls, silver beads, rope trim, and heavy carved incised lines. Spratling described this design as a wide Aztec bracelet with framed buttons. Spratling did not produce this design after 1946. The bracelet is substantial 1 and 7/8 inches wide and the earrings are 3/4 inches wide with a 3/8” dome. These earrings are known as Half ball silver earrings. According to Spratling's autobiography "File on Spratling," this was one of his earliest designs. He continued to produce these earrings until early 1946 according to www.spratlingsilver.com. I purchased these items together from an estate along with some other early Mexican Silver pieces. The River of Life Bracelet is one of Spratlings best known designs. This bracelet is very substantial and has appropriate patina and wear for the age. The domed areas have some dings, but for me that indicates that this bracelet was a favorite and was worn and enjoyed regularly by the original owner. The earrings have wonderful patina and are fully hallmarked with the ca. 1940's stamp. I have included lots of photos. Any other questions, please feel free to contact me.
