BACKGROUND
Galleries, bookshops, antique stores and auction houses have been frequented from an early age. My parents, discerning antique collectors and specialized dealers, have bestowed a love and appreciation of fine art, passing on their excitement, passion and knowledge. For the past ten years the Japanese aesthetic has given my life a new direction and challenge. Enthusiasm and perseverance have created a unique position, providing me with access to the majority of quality pieces unearthed and marketed in Kyoto, surrounding regions and further afield. SITUATION My wife, young family and I reside in a traditional Japanese home cum showroom. Built at the very beginning of the Showa era (circa 1925/30), it is a source of inspiration for our growing fine art collection, featuring works from the Taisho and early Showa periods. We are conveniently located near Heian Jingu, one of the most famous shrines in Japan. It was built in 1895 to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of the city of Kyoto and to deify emperor Kamu. COMMITMENT To provide an extensive, informed and professional service, dedicated to offering fine works of art for your perusal and reflexion. We aim to make every visit to our store, be it online or in person, a memorable experience. |
