This beautiful, large, pitcher stands an impressive 10 1/4 inches to the top of the spout. The marks on the base read "4 Published by W. Ridgway & Co. Hanley, October 1, 1835" plus a workman's mark. The design features a hand reaching up the handle and holding it at the top. On one side is a tavern scene. On the other are 2 wingless, but flying, people chasing a horseman. One has the horse by the tail. No chips, cracks, repairs, or other damage - a really nice example.

Unmarked except for a worker's mark on the bottom of the teapot, this set is very similar to others from the late 18th and very early 19th centuries. Nice, crisp, molding on all 3 pieces. The teapot stands approx. 5 1/4 inches to the top of the handle. The creamer, sugar bowl, and teapot are all in great condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Pretty remarkable for a set over 200 years old!

This teapot is in the form of a basket holding fruit. Well documented as having been designd by Greatbatch - it is even mentioned in a letter that he wrote to Josiah Wedgwood. It stands approx. 5 inches tall with the lid on. The lid is associated - I'm guessing it started out on a matching sugar bowl. There is a loss to the tip of the spout and chips to the rim of the top. Still, I've seen restored copies of this piece retail for over $3,000 so feel that I am offering it at a ver ...click for details

In spite of the numerous reference books and authorities I have, I was not able to find any reference to this pattern. I don't like using the word rare, but in this case it seems to be justified. The scene pictured is of people on a beach under a lighted pole. The inscription reads "Evening Swiming Scene at Manhatton Beach". That is the actual spelling as it appears on the mug. Manhattan Beach is located next to (might even now be part of, I'm not clear on this) Coney Is ...click for details

This bowl is in the pinecone pattern by Worcester. There is a C mark on the base, as well as an old Sotheby Parke Bernet label. This would have originally had a double gourd shaped water bottle, but in this case that bottle is missing. A complete set is on display at Historic Williamsburg. There are some light scratches from use, and a couple of burn marks from firing, but no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is good wear to the foot rim. These plates have a brown edging, with a series of diamond shaped cutouts with 3 holes at each point. In between the diamonds is a cut out floral design. The edges are molded, as well as painted. Each plate measures approx. 3/4 inches across. They date from the late eighteenth or early 19th century, and are not marked - as is common with this type of ware. One plate has a 1 5/8 inch hairline going from the edge, through a diamond, and a little beyond. The other plate has one small hole blo ...click for details

Each of these beautiful chargers measures approx. 16 1/4 inches across. Shaped to resemble silver trays of the period, they feature a chippendale style border, with 6 beaded panels around the center. This is known as the Barlycorn pattern. Dating from the mid to late 1700's, they are unmarked - as is typical for this type of ware. No chips, cracks, or repairs. A few light scratches are the only thing wrong. Truly amazing that a pair of these ceramic chargers could last over 200 years w ...click for details
