Antique Japanese Scroll Painting Late Edo, early Meiji periods Circa 1860 Finely pained on silk with natural stone ground pigments. Signed and sealed by the artist This scroll appears to have been remounted at least once. There is an old repair to the top left side of the mounting, and a few small wormage holes, mostly at the top. Scroll size 74 x 20 inches Lacquered wood scroll ends. Very nice quality mounting. In very good condition commensurate with age. More photos available by request.

This exceptionally well carved and elegant Kadai, display stand, measures 21 inches by 17 1/2 inches and is 3 inches high. Carved from a single piece of wood in the form of a lotus leaf resting on lotus roots, stems and lotus pods. The naturalistic carving, elegant lines and artistic balance of this stand could only have been achieved by a master carver. Unsigned. Late Meiji, early Taisho Period, circa 1890-1920.
