"SOLD"

Samurai "Dragon" Guruwa
Age: Early Edo.

Details: This is a very rare embossed metal Guruwa. This specific type of neck armor were worn on occasion in various periods. This early Edo period piece features an extremely skilled use of metal work to create a beautiful Dragon among swirling clouds. The interior is finished in gold lacquer. The lacing due to its great age is broken and frayed in various places. The remnants of the purple lacing and the extreme degree of detail indicate this piece belonged to an important set of armor. The lacing is easily replaced. This is the only example of it's type we have ever seen. No Reserve.
