"SOLD"

Japanese Daimyo Sword Stand circa 18th century
Age: Edo period.

Remarks: Handcrafted of mulberry wood this is an unusual piece. The supports are constructed in a fashion to resemble bamboo. Pierced woodworking details are featured in the center along with delicately detailed birds in gold lacquer. This was purchased from a well known sword collection in Japan. Very elegant in appearance this is a rare piece that was made in a style we have not seen before.
