A striking Meiji Period Satsuma vase, decorated with two oblong panels against a multicolored floral background accented with areas of raised gold highlights. Each panel is meticulously painted and enamelled in multi-chrome; selective areas, e.g. parts of the kimonos, are rendered in slight raised gold trim, thus creating a lifelike quality.
