An exceptional set of four (4) parlor or dining chairs from the workshop of John Jelliff in outstanding condition. The set is composed of four matching chairs made of black walnut with gold highlights. The crests feature two different bronze medallions of Trojan and medieval soldiers. They sit on the original brass castors on the front legs.
It is rare to find a full set of 4 still complete as most would have been separated by now. Because of their size and shape, they are very versatile, and could be used either in the parlor or with a dining suite. Circa: 1865 Condition: Excellent Finish: Original, exceptional. Damask upholstery, somewhat worn but serviceable. Dimensions: 38’’H X ’’20 ½ D X 23”W, Seat height 15 1/5”” All checks have to clear before shipping.
