| A kesi (kossu) table frontal with 5 clawed dragons, clouds, auspicious symbols and bats on a beige-yellowish ground. China, circa 1800. Dim.: 65x99cm. The kesi part is bordered with a brocaded band. The frontal is backed with blue cotton. Please note that the condition is poor and it needs further restoration on top of the repairs already done in the past! Study the pictures carefully! There are numerous holes, damaged areas and places where the kesi has separated. Despite these conditional problems I believe it to be a quite early piece in this technique. | |||||||||||||||
