This watercolor won the "Purchase Prize" in 1947 at The San Francisco Museum of Art (MOMA) The Purchase Prize, represents the "BEST" painting of the entire show, there were none better! Born in Oakland, CA on Jan. 9, 1892. Stoddart studied at the CSFA, UC Berkeley, CCAC, Mills College in Oakland, and with Dong Kingman. She began painting about 1927. Married twice, she was the wife of artist Louis Siegriest during her last ten years.
