Carved with three scholars, one of whom is holding a double-gourd, and a servant playing a flute, all sitting under a pine tree amidst rocks, the rim with a copper band. With wooden stand. China, Qing Dynasty, 19th century. Height without stand: 12,8 cm.
Carved as a dragon stretching a rectangular piece of cloth with his claws. His upper neck and head and tail on opposite sides emerging from beneath becoming the handles. The carving of the folds in the corners suggest the tension of the cloth being stretched.
