The detachable bearded figure is known as Kin Kao (the recluse of Chao) holding a scroll in his hands and sitting on a carp, which is resting on his tail and fins with two stylised waves underneath, the details finely engraved. China, Qing Dynasty, 18th century. Height: 15 cm, Width 20 cm.

Raised on three blade-form legs, the deep rounded sides rising to a wide everted rim with U-shaped spout and pair of capped posts rising from the rim, cast around the body with a band of meandering motifs, the c-scroll handle with an animal mask. The monkey sitting with his left hand on his hip and holding a peach with his right hand his nipples executed in copper, the spout in the shape of a bamboo trunk, the base with a two character mark SHENG HE in a rectangular. China, Kangxi era ( 1662-1722) Height: 13,3 cm. Width: 20 cm. Similar pieces are to be found in Kangxi porcelains.
