Female nude, c. 1920s
RPPC Real picture postcard Important German nude female study by Lotte Herrlich, circa 1920 - full length standing study of a slim and possibly oiled female nude from a three quarter rear angle, evidently using a soft focus mask at the edges of the shot for artistic impact. Herrlich was a major figure in both German photography and the naturism movement in the first decades of the 20th Century, famous equally for her nudes and her landscapes. Text on the reverse, printed on the plain back, shows the photo to have been published by the journal, "Die Schonheit", which was a major proponent of Herrlich's work. Numbered as series 126. Unused. Has a glue adhesion line on top edge of reverse, otherwise virtually unmarked. |
