| This is a large, beautiful pale blue or teal, 19th century hand painted Demijohn. I purchased this and 2 other very similar demijohns (also listed) at auction. This demijohn is perfect for the wine lover as a decorative piece or as a lamp base and will fit perfectly into any French décor. The hand painted décor on this piece is in shades of gold with some red and brown. The painting reads “Chateau de Vaugelas” and features a decorative frame with a French chateau in the center which is bordered by two larger painted tassels. This bottle is in excellent condition with one small chip on the outer lip of the bottle. (I had to really inspect the bottle to find it!) The painted décor is beautiful with some mild fading.
