Nice older ( about 100 years old ) bamboo basket with a fine dark patina. Somewhat dirty, I will leave cleaning to the buyer, also somewhat misshapen, otherwise very good condition, no breaks or missing pieces. See pictures. Comes with tin cup ( has plastic cup inside -- note holes in tin cup ). About 9 1/2" tall by about 6 1/2" wide. For Japanese flower arrangements, nice wabi sabi feel, would work well for informal tea ceremony.

Beautiful forged iron tsuba with mokume wood grain pattern. Image is either of Daruma or one of the 8 taoist immortals holding the flaming jewel of wisdom and a scroll, reverse is a pine tree matsu. All with silver and gold highlights. Signed Tomo Yasu, he worked in the late Edo period in the Nagato Hagi area, perhaps this was used during the Satsuma rebellion! SOme very light surface rust, otherwise excellent condition, kiri box included.
This is a really beautiful sculptural work of tribal art. Rare and finely carved using stone and shell ( shell scraping evident on the nicely patinated surface ). Reminds me of the woodland Native American carved burl bird bowls.
Figural work from Santa Cruise is rare, and I have only seen two other examples of figural bowls. They are more common from the Admiralty Islands of Papua New Guinea.
This great piece is about 14.1" long by about 4.3 by 4.1". No repair or restoration.

A fine and rare small aboriginal bowl. These coolamon were also used for digging and even as cradles for infants. This piece is well over 100 years old and appears to be made using stone tools. Rich patina and signs of use for digging, etc. Patina is much nicer than images show. About 13" long.
This fine and very old piece came with a mask that was deaccessioned from the Linden Museum. The mask was collected by Dr. Bassler in 1899, and the necklace was collected at the same time. Approximately 20" long, fine patina from decades of use. there is one loose spot in the middle of the piece, otherwise in excellent old condition.
