$335

This piece was collected from a kiln site in China, it was most likely a kiln reject because the glaze did not cover an area and it was underfired, so the glaze is a matte instead of the more typical gloss surface. Beautiful shape, no cracks or chips, would work well for tea ceremony. Beautiful sky blue color does not come through in pictures. about 4 1/2" diameter.

This bowl was found at a kiln site in china, it was most likely a kiln reject note that it is misshapen and there is an area on the foot that stuck to the sagger! It is stable and does not leak, so could be used for tea ceremony ( cha no yu ) very wabi/sabi! Also rare because it is almost all solid red color, just a small patch of hare's fur. About 4 3/4" diameter.

A very nice kashira for Japanese samurai sword depicting the story of Guanin and the red pine. Done in silver, gold and copper on a shakudo ground, it is substantial and heavy with the work done in high relief. John Berta saw this at the sword show in Chicago and said the signature looked good, but I forgot to ask him to read it for me! I'll try to look it up. Very fine detail ( even the Guanin's eyes have pupils!). Nice condition with some wear.

$195 sold thank you

I bought this in Australia in 1987 from a gallery that specialized in Indonesian art. I was told at the time that is was "antique" and I suppose it could be, but it looks like circa 1960 to me. It is definitely not the typical tourist piece you see now, much more detailed and better carving. There are some repairs ( tail broken off and reguled ), but overall a nice decorative piece. About 12" tall.
