This is one of the oldest and finest pieces of its type. 44 inches long by 16.5 inches wide. A stunning Ersari ( beshir ) turkman jollar trapping. Fairly fine for an Ersari weaving, the colors are all vegetable dyes, no synthetics. Ivory, dark green, medium green, apricot, madder red, yellow, and blue. Thsi rug has the supple feel of age and may be older than I indicate, the date of 1860's was given by the late George O'Bannon. The wool is high quality and the colors just glow.
