This is a very nice little box ( about 3" diameter ) made by Warren Mackenzie. I purchased this a Creighton University gallery benefit for the young widow of the head of the ceramics department a few years ago. I forget his name right now but will put it up here when I remember. This piece is not signed but there is no question as to who made it. Very Japanese "flavor". Excellent condition.

This was the nicest tea pot I have found by Ruthanne Tudball, one of England's premier artist potters. I purchased it several years ago and am selling much of my personal pottery collection. This pot is more intricate than her current work and was made about 15 years ago. Her tea pots retail for about $350 to $400 now, about 8" long and about 8" tall ( dimensions are approximate ). Excellent condition, never used. Signed.

This is a real find! A David Leach ( 1911-2005 ) teapot perfectly executed and fired from the Lowerdown pottery in his signature "foxglove" design with original cane handle, signed by the artist. David Leach was the son of perhaps the most famous art potter of the 20th century, Bernard Leach. Heavily influenced by his father and the mingei Japanese and also Chinese pottery, David went on to become a leading artist in his own right. His work is skyrocketing in value, two teapots tha ...click for details

This is really big! I do not have it right here to measure ( it is at my office ) but I think it is at least 14 to 16 inches tall! The son of the famous Tsujimura Shiro, Kai's talent is at least equal to his father's IMHO. This vase evokes images of the moon over trees in winter. wonderful rich glaze, great shape and a fine lip. A perfect tea ceremony piece. Excellent condition, signed box.

Kato Takeshi ( also known as Kato Ken ) is a fast rising star in the world of yakimono ( Japanese ceramics ). He is influenced by Kato Kozo. This is a traditionally wood fired chawan with good clay and a rich underpainted glaze that shows the fingermarks of the artist when he held it and dipped it in the glaze. Very nice traditional Shino bowl. Great foot too. Dai ichi arts had a chawan up for sale a few years ago for $1650, and it was not as nice as this one! About 5"+ diameter ( big ) ...click for details
