Clarence Lomayestewa Hopi silver overlay bracelet sgnd
this is another rare collector's piece. Clarence Lomayestewa began working in 1948 when he learned from the Guild under the GI bill. He stopped working in 1964 when he gave his tools to his brothers Mark and McBride. His work is very hard to find. This link bracelet is a stunning example of his work, depicting on each 1" link a Hopi parrot, 3 mesas, a pueblo, and other designs. There is no texture to the background confirming the piece's age. Entire bracelet is about 7 1/4" long, links are a total of 1" each and about 1/2" wide. Excellent worn condition, Marked CL and sterling. circa 1960...
