| The Miwa family now boast 3 ningen kokuho ( living national treasures ) and the current head is Miwa Jusetsu ( Ryusaku). Miwa Kazuhiko is his brother and a much respected artist. This Hagi chawan is large and in Kazuhiko's distinctive sculptural style. It is one of the finest pieces I have seen by him. I would guess this would retail for $6000 or more in Japan. Fine rich glaze, perfectly fired fine clay. Just a great piece. 4 7/8" diameter by 4" tall, singed by artist in signed box with exhibition pamphlet inside. Perfect condition. | ||
