Gandhara stone panel with the Buddha and an attendant in the lower frame. The partially preserved Buddha is seated on a pedestal in the dhyana mudhra gesture. He is dressed in Gandharan style and showing a wavy hairstyle topped with the raised ushnisha. On the left a man in daring contrapposto and exaggeratedly turned upper body. The handsome face is rendered with half open eyes, a straight fine nose and well defined purse lips. A raised urna is positioned above the arched eyebrows. The wavy hair is parted over the forehead and topped by a richly ornamented crown. The head burst off from a larger statue. Grey schist. Gandhara, 2nd/3rd century AD. Fragmentary stone relief showing a downwards looking thoughtful woman. The expressively carved head with bangs topped by an elaborate headdress. The woman is wearing large earrings and a necklace.
