This English Oak Blanket Box is in Excellent Overall Condition, c. 1704. Carved with the initials “W.A.” and “1704” on the apron. The top and interior lining are of a later date, as is some of the hardware. The overall design is very simple, with panel construction and one hinged opening in the front which has since been permanently closed. Measuring 24 1/4” D x 72” W x 25 1/4” H, Serious Inquiries are Welcome!

Tann’s Twelve Corner Defiance Safe, London Fields, London.” John Tann Ltd. was founded in 1795 in the UK and supplied all the major financial institutions including the Bank of England. John R. Tann (R. Tann’s) was likely a son or grandson of the founder who produced his own safes.
