| Relics of the Nile is very pleased to present this splendid Roman glass unguent jar. This jar is in excellent, intact condition with excellent burial patina. The jar has a superb bulbous body, long cylindrical neck, and nicely formed rim. This excellent specimen stands a splendid 3" in height and displays nicely. This jar was originally created to hold ritual unguents and oils and the rim was formed for the shaking out of the oils, similar to the Lekythos in ancient Greece. Roman, Eastern Empire, 100 A.D. | |
