| Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this superb rare ancient Egyptian New Kingdom ushabti. This ushabti is fragmented, however, the piece itself on the frontal portion of the piece remain in excellent detail. The ushabti varies from the typical statue form and is presented as a more flat, plaque version of an ushabti. Colors of red, black, and yellow cover the piece. The facial features are superb as well, with the Nemes headcloth painted in black. The most significant aspect of this piece is that it is presented in mummiform similar to the Anthrapoid sarcophagus with the face formed clearly in 3-D extending outward from the piece and the hands presented crossed at the chest. This is a nice example. The piece itself measures a very impressive 5 5/8" in height. The piece dates from the New Kingdom (1,550 - 1,070 B.C.). A nice addition to any Egyptian collection. | ||
