| Relics of the Nile is very pleased to present this outstanding ancient Egyptian sarcophagus panel featuring a Knot of Isis. The Knot of Isis was an important representation from the goddess Isis, wife of Osiris (the god of the Underworld) and is presented here in very brilliant red, black, and green colors. The piece remains in excellent condition with only minor loss to the pigment. The peg hole is still present on the top of the piece, where it was originally attached to another panel on the sarcophagus. The piece itself measures a splendid 4.5" x 3" and makes an excellent display. Egypt, Late-Ptolemaic Period, 350 - 50 B.C. | ||
