| Relics of the Nile is very pleased to present this superb ancient Egyptian Pre-Dynastic blacktop vessel. This artifact comes from the Naqada II culture. The Naqada II phase, also known as Gerzean, lasted for the middle of the fourth millennium. During this period black-rimmed pottery was predominant during this period and is extremely popular among collectors. The body of the piece is in excellent condition with only minor proffesional restoration and chipping that does not detract from the beauty and display of the piece. The artifact measures a very impressive 8" in height and 6.5" in diameter. The piece is an amazing display and looks much as it did over 5,000 years ago, and displays a wonderful earthtone color in addition to the superb black pigmentation around the circumference of the rim. The jar remains extremely sturdy and is a very large and solid display of early Egyptian pre-dynastic history. Egypt, Ca. 3,500 - 3,200 B.C. | ||
