| Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this outstanding large Egyptian sarcophagus mask. This mask features highly detailed facial structures including the eyes, nose, ears, mouth, etc. Very clear. The wood is in excellent condition. The cosmetic details on the face are outlined in black and the nostrils are masterfully formed. The ears are brilliantly carved from the same piece of wood and extrude from the side of the piece showing terrific dimension and detail. The mouth features a pleasing smile that represented the deceased's Kah throughout eternity. The false beard on the front of the mask is very rare and remains intact on the piece. The mask itself measures a very impressive 13" in height, 11" wide, and a thick and solid 6" in depth. This makes this a tremendously large display and is a museum quality piece. Egypt, Late Period, 664 - 350 B.C. | ||
