Ancient Egyptian 14th Dynasty Scarab for Neferu-Ra
This 14th Dynasty steatite scarab appears to be for "Neferu-Ra". The glyphs on the underside are coparable to those on numerous pieces on Plate XX in Flinders-Petrie's Scarabs and Seals with Names. The piece is inscribed similarly with "Uzat, Nefer" and in the cartouche it appears to be for "Neferu-Ra". Condition: Abraded, but with good details remaining. Egypt, Second Intermediate Period, 14th Dynasty (Ca. 1,750 - 1,648 B.C.) Measures: 16.3 mm (0.65") in length. A nice, rare piece. Provenance provided to purchaser.
