| The size of Plate: 8" Dia x 1" High. Very fine quality Japanese Ko Imari Sometsuke Porcelain Plate. The plate is made by very fine porcelain body in the shape of rinka(flower petal). It has beautiful glazing. The design on the plate has Sho Chiku Bai(pine, bamboo and plum) design in the center. Outer rim area with Botan(peony) Karakusa design finely painted. My photo does not showing the detail of leaf veins but each leaf are painted with veins. Some of leaf veins not showing because of heavy glazing and darker gosu blue. It has the marking of "Kigyoku Hotei No Chin" which marking only appear on the fine Ko Imari pieces. The condition of plate is excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. The surface is excellent condition, very little wear for the age. No flaws. Dating from early 18th century, 1710-50, Edo Chuki(middle Edo). Actual gosu color is better. | |||||||||||||||
