| The size of Suzuribako: 9 7/8" Long x 8 3/4" Wide x 1 5/8" High. Beautiful Japanese Roiro Makie Suzuribako with fine works of Nashiji. The suzuribako is made with wooden body with fine Nashiji works inside cover,case back as well as outside. The finish is high gloss roiro makie, lacquer. The wall thickness is 5mm on bottm case. The cover has slightly wider on the edge with trim line. The cover top has little arch shape. It has very unusaul design of gold works which appearing to be butterfly design done in Korin style. Inside frame is removable. The condition of Suzuribako is very good. There are two area on the back(bottom of Suzuribako)restored as last photo showing. There is two inside corners also restored which can not seen because of frame works. The frame has some age wear. One spot of Urushi deposit on outside lower area as 11th photo show which will be covered as the cover set. One line hairline line inside from 1 3/4" from the edge which is only inside bottom and not outside bottom showing. It has been sealed with clear lacquer. Little wear area on top of Suzuribako. The cover is excellent condition, no split crack and no hairline. Dating for Suzuribako from late Edo to Meiji, 1860-1900. | |||||||||||||||
