The size of Tray: 9 1/4" L x 6 3/4" W x 5/8" H.,
The size of Box: 5 1/4" L x 3 5/8" W x 1 1/2" High.
Beautifu Japanese Makie, Lacquer Box and Tray. The body is made by wood with Roiro(black) lacuqer finish. The tray has four beaitiful butterfly design. The box has fine design of foo dog. Each lines showing on butterfly and foo dogs are done in gold finish. Very attractive and striking set. It came with wooden Tomobako. The tray is signed lower left with same artist signature with wooden box. It is signed by Kiyokata or Seigyoku( could read as both name). The condition of Box/Tray excellent. Little wear on top of Tray. One spot are at the front right side edge(3 inch from right) has minor restored spot. Dating from 1930-40's before war. The writing on top of box said, Tabacco Ire(cigarett case). The tray photo has the reflection of photo tent fabric texture. |
